Alden Leonard Franek, age 95 of Katy, Tx, passed away August 22, 2020 due to complications of the Coronavirus.
He was born in Clarkson, Nebraska May 10, 1925. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elsa. They were married 70 plus years. Other survivors are his three children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren & numerous great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He served in WW2 and the Korean War with the United States Coast Guard. As a Merchant Marine, he sailed aboard the Charles Dauray in June of 1944 to Murmansk Russia. He was a true sailor, spending a total of 17 years at sea. He enjoyed watching Pro sports and College Football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers & Texas Longhorns. He and Elsa loved traveling around the US and Europe. He spent many a morning wade fishing at San Luis Pass.
He loved God, his family & his country and was blessed with many happy years.
